Climate change is becoming a major threat to child development this is the view of the United Nations Children’s Fund.

With the main negotiations taking place and countries making their opinions heard, the children at COP17/CMP7 are also making their voices heard.

Unicef hosted a session on “Youth change makers: South African child-led community action”.

The session was presented by five children from the Girls and Boys Environmental Movement school club working across South Africa.

The five children presenting the session called on government to visit rural areas and educate people in the rural areas about climate change.

The children added that by them being educated about climate change they are the “president of today”. #COP17
