Yesterday afternoon a member of the public noticed people having difficulty in an area not for swimming in Dappat se Gat, Kogel Bay.
The City of Cape Town’s disaster operations were notified and they sent out emergency teams immediately.
The lifeguards at the beach deployed a rescue craft and saved the people from the water.
The city is urging everyone to swim in the designated swimming areas with lifeguards on duty.
