The National Lotteries Board has confirmed that its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vevek Ram has retired.

Board chairperson Alfred Nevhutanda maintains Ram applied for an early retirement.

This comes after unions called for his dismissal after dissatisfied non-profit organizations called for funding allocation audits.

Nevuthanda said that the board has approved Ram’s request for an early retirement.
