The Guateng Community Safety Department said today that they are conducting random road blocks and raids at the notorious Noord Street taxi rank in central Johannesburg.

This comes after an incident last week where two girls were sexually harassed for wearing miniskirts.

Community Safety spokesperson Dumisani Ngema said that at least 20 taxi's were impounded.

He also added that the aim of these operations is to rid Noord Street taxi rank of the stigma of recent years.
