The
young man, whose mother was killed during a stampede at the University of Johannesburg , still wants to study
there.
The incident occurred when his mother was queuing at the university on Tuesday hoping to get last-minute admission for their son. The crowd of approximately 6 000 pushed against the gates from behind.
The mother then fell as people pushed forward, and suffered head and chest injuries. She then died on the scene.
The university has now offered to pay Kgositsile's tuition fees, but the father says they are not even thinking as far as a bursary right now due to the loss of a mother and a wife.
