The Public Private Health
forum met on Thursday to discuss the financial relationship between the private
and public sectors and the legal regulations that govern it.
Ministerial Spokesperson
Colleen Smart said, the forum focused on improving the way in which the private
sector does business with the public healthcare sector, and how private
expertise can add value to their services.
Smart added that Provincial Minister
of Health Nomafrench Mbombo shared some insights on how the Western Cape
government is creating a conducive environment for public and private
partnerships.
Smart said “Often the private sector is
discouraged from doing business with the government or forming public-private relationship
due to odd administrative processes. And this why it was so crucial to have the
discussions with them today, in order to come up with innovative ways of
service delivery to our clients.”
