North West Police have arrested a
29-year-old man for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl.
According to police the victim’s mother
went to collect wood at a nearby veld when the victim was still at school.
On her return, she found her daughter’s
school bag lying outside her shack, she went inside and her daughter was not
there.
She asked the neighbours about the
whereabouts of her daughter, who informed her that she was at the suspect’s
shack, which was not far from the victim’s home.
Provincial
Captain Pelonomi Makau said that upon arrival at the suspects place the mother noticed
that the shack was locked.
“According to the information the mother
asked for assistance from the community police forum in the area and they
unlocked the shack and found the victim lying in bed alone,” added Makau.
Makau said that they immediately informed
the police and the victim told the police that she allegedly raped by the
suspect.
Furthermore Makau added that the victim
could not walk due to the injuries she sustained during the ordeal. Police
rushed the victim to the hospital where the reports were confirmed.
