ACDP: Parliament must take action against Tlakula

The African Christian Democratic Party said Parliament needs to take action against Independent Electoral Commission Chairperson Pansy Tlakula.

This is after Public Protector Thuli Madonsela released a report which found Tlakula guilty of maladministration and misconduct over the IEC’s acquisition of a new R320 million office in Centurion.

ACDP MP Cheryllyn Dudley said they are calling on parliament to consider taking action against the IEC chairperson.

“It is entirely reasonable to have expected her to refuse herself and to declare the situation in terms of her relationship business and otherwise,” added Dudley.

Dudley said it is also in line with the public protector’s call.
