Western Cape Police have confirmed that a
51-year-old vice principal has been arrested.
It
is believed that he sexually assaulted a 12-year-old learner in Knysna.
Captain Malcolm Pojie said the man was
arrested on Wednesday night after the girl's mother laid a charge.
The 51-year-old is expected to appear in
the Knysna Magistrate Court on Friday
Poijie said that according to the
information that is available it is believed that the incident took place
during school hours.
“The suspect called in two learners to assist him with the dissemination of letters to the parents and when the one learner left the office the suspect closed the door and proceeded to try and undress the learner and fiddled with her private parts,” added Pojie.
He added that the head master then caught
him in the act and reported the incident to the learners’ parent and subsequent
to that the parents then made a case of sexual assault and the suspect was
