A school in Ceres is investigating allegations of two Grade 7 boys who allegedly sexually assaulted two Grade 1 boys in the school hostel.

Western Cape Education Department Spokesperson Paddy Attwell said they view in the most serious light and action is being taken.

Attwell said that the school governing body plans to hold a disciplinary hearing on the 28th of August.

“Meanwhile a social worker from our district is counselling the grade one learners concerned and their families,” Attwell said.

Attwell furthermore explained that the police are aware of the issue and he added that as far as they know the parent has not laid a criminal complaint.

He also said that they are aware that the department of social development are planning to do so.
