City Power is working frantically to restore power to parts of northern Johannesburg following outages earlier this morning.
Several suburbs have been affected, and City Power’s Louis Pieterse says technicians are working on the problem.
City Power has been heavily criticised because of continuous outages in recent weeks.
High electricity demand is normally associated with the winter months, but City Power says today’s cuts were due to a technical malfunction.
