As trade unions prepare for industrial action, Eskom has vowed to reduce the impact a looming strike will have on electricity supply.

In a weekly power supply status report, the parastatal says contingency plans will be put in place should the strike go ahead.

Eskom’s latest offer of an 8% wage increase, a 5.6% key allowances increase and a R12000 per employee once off payment, has been rejected by unions.
