The IFP has praised the Supreme Court of Appeal for ruling that President Jacob Zuma’s appointment of Menzi Simelani as director of Public Prosecutions is invalid.

The IFP’s Koos van der Merwe says the court acted without fear, favour or prejudice.

According to the veteran politician, the ruling proves that our judiciary is independent and brave and that it fulfils its role as South Africa's watchdog effectively.
