Two people have died in a fire that has left six people displaced in Khayelitsha in the early hours of this morning.
Disaster Risk Management spokesperson Wilfred Solomons-Johannes says a fire occurred this morning at the in Site A Gubayo Street, Khayelitsha.
“The City’s Disaster Risk Management Centre will arrange for humanitarian relief to the families that were affected.
“Further social assistance will be provided by the Social Development Department of the Western Cape Provincial Government and the South African Social Security,” Solomons-Johannes.
He added that the South African Police Services have opened an inquest docket and the incident will be investigated.
