South Africa’s former top cop Jackie Selebi will have to spend 15-years in jail for corruption.
The Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein today dismissed Selebi’s appeal against his conviction.
He was found guilty of corruption after accepting payments from convicted drug trafficker Glenn Agliotti. Selebi will now have to report to Correctional Services in Johannesburg within 48 hours.
Judge Kenneth Mthiyane told the court that the appeal is dismissed".
He appealed against the sentence and conviction before a full bench of five judges.
