For the first time in Africa a zero-emission car has been introduced by Renault – Nissan at COP17/CMP7.

Renault – Nissan has provided a dozen electric cars for delegates at COP17/CMP7, this is to highlight the benefits of green transportation.

The Renault – Nissan cars can be charged from renewable energy resources such as solar and wind power.

South Africa is aiming at becoming the continent’s leader in clean-energy generation. The country is aiming this through the building of one of the world’s biggest solar power plants.

The solar power plant would be able to increase access to electricity while reducing the dependence on fossil fuels. #COP17
