The City of Cape Town said today that it would conduct an autopsy on a young baboon found dead in a block of flats near Glencairn in Cape Town.

The baboon was found in a corridor at Da Gama Park on Wednesday.

City officials said that the animal was found with blood coming from its mouth and nose.

It is suspected the baboon was hit with an object but the post mortem will only be carried out next week Monday.
