Copper thieves arrested

Two men were arrested in Johannesburg for being in possession of stolen copper cables and railway sleepers.


Another man was arrested for being in possession of power cables after he approached a scrap dealership while the Hawks were on the property.


South African Police Services has been applauded by the Railway Safety Regulator for the arrests.


RSR Senior Manager Sibongiseni Henna says these type of incidents they put the lives of other people at risk.


He also says they also lead to train delays and repair costs.
