The Langa indoor sports centre has reopened its doors to the public.
PHOTO: CoCTThe facility closed temporarily in July 2023, after damages
were caused to the roof following inclement winter weather.
Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services and Health,
Patricia van der Ross, says repairs to the façade, roof sheets, and rails from
purlins as well as internal and external waterproofing have been completed.
‘’We understand the importance of the facility as a
recreational amenity for the community and teams have worked diligently to
ensure that it is structurally sound, and safe for public use. We thank the
community for their patience and support during this period.’’
‘’The Recreation & Parks Department facility team looks
forward to welcoming users, whether for recreational activities, sporting
activities and workouts, or for a special event,’’ she added.
