A 34-year-old man arrested for murdering a 9-year-old girl in Knysna

Today Southern Cape police have confirmed that a 32-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly murdering a 9-year-old girl. 

Police Spokesperson Captain Bernadine Steyn said the 32-year-old man was arrested in Knysna after the body of the child was recovered on Saturday. 

Steyn added that the deceased was playing with her friends when the suspect approached them.

“He offered to walk with the deceased through the bushes to a nearby shop and that is when he killed her” Steyn said.
 
The man is expected to appear in court soon.
