A teacher suspended after using a k-word to a pupil

A teacher has been suspended this is after she called a pupil at Vergenoegd Primary School the k-word. 

The Western Cape Department of Education has also given the teacher a written warning following a disciplinary hearing. 

Department’s Millicent Merton said they can confirm the department has suspended the teacher in Vergenoegd Primary School in Delft for two months without pay for referring to learners using a derogatory term.

Merton added that the teacher is receiving counselling for diversity and professional conduct from our employer wellness programme.
