The African Christian Democratic Party said
it is opposed to the introduction of carbon tax as proposed by the National
Treasury.
ACDP Parliamentary Leader Wayne Thring said
they are not in favour of the introduction of carbon tax but welcomes goals
which could lead to reducing carbon footprint.
Thring said the ACDP believes that this
should be seen by many in business as revenue correcting venture to boost the
national office.
Thring further said business has already
seen a huge increase in administered cost, electricity rates, petrol prices and
school fees.
He added that another tax like the carbon
tax could be just the last straw.
