City of Cape Town investigating flooding in the Philippi Horticultural area

The City of Cape of Cape Town said it has noted some reports about flooding in the Philippi Horticultural Area.

The area was affected by unusually high rainfall over the last few weeks. 

The team that was set up by the city to inspect the area include the city’s Disaster Risk Management Centre and Roads and Stormwater Department, the provincial government’s Agriculture Ministry and AgriSA. 

Acting Spokesperson for Mayor Patricia de Lille, Priya Reddy said as part of our efforts to build a caring city and one that is responsive the city disaster risk management centre co-ordinated a multi disciplinary team to go and inspector the area, they are going to be investigating and recommend what appropriate action should be taken if any.
 
Reddy added that they have not received the report yet from the team that investigate the area.
