COPE Youth Movement shocked at KZN teachers striking during exams

The Congress of the People Youth Movement said it is shocked at the threats made by the KwaZulu Natal’s South African Democratic Teachers Union to disrupt the trail exams of matric students in the province.

Sadtu is calling for the provincial head to be axed after he allegedly failed to meet a longstanding agreement on wage increases.

Cope Youth Movement Secretary General Abel Rangata said they are really puzzled as to how the teachers can act in such a reckless and irresponsible manner.

Rangata added that the teacher’s core work is to improve the results of these learners and if ever they are threatened to strike while these learners are supposed to write exams, the question should be what the results will be at the end of the year.
