The Congress of South African Trade
Union in the North West
province said it has noted with disappointment the failure of the Department of
Transport to respond to its demand.
Cosatu in August had a meeting with
the DDG at the toll gate during the protest action which he promised that he
will come back to Cosatu with a response.
Cosatu Provincial Spokesperson Solly Phetoe
said immediately after two weeks they increased the toll gate up to from R 71
to R75 and their demands were for the costs to decreased.
“This is the clear picture of the
Department of Transport continuously undermining the working class in the poor
communities and we are proceeding with protest action” Phetoe added.
