Western Cape Chairperson of the Provincial Community Police Board Hanif Loonat’s has been cleared of all charges that were brought against him by the South African Police Service.

However Loonat said he feels sidelined as the chairperson especially after elections were held on Saturday and he was not notified.

“I feel very disappointed that elections took place on Saturday which was unlawful, unethical, and unconstitutional where a decision to have this meeting was taken while I was suspended,” Loonat added.

He also said he will take the matter to the Public Protector.
