The National Education Health and Allied Workers Union of South Africa has today confirmed that the strike at Walter Sisulu University is over.

Workers and management reached a wage agreement despite the fact that Nehawu is not happy with the agreement but important factors had to be considered.

On Thursday, President Jacob Zuma appointed Minister in the Presidency Collins Chabane to help find a solution to the crisis at Walter Sisulu University.

Nehawu’s Spokesperson Sizwe Pamla said the workers have accepted an annual of 5% across the board and that will be back dated to January and officially the workers are expected to return to work on Monday and the classes will resume the same day.
