Former President Nelson Mandela will “probably” attend the opening game of the World Cup, but only for a short while. This is according to his grandson.
According to his grandson, Madiba will greet players and fans for about 15 minutes before Friday’s match.
Analysts say Mandela’s attendance at the match will energize the entire country.
Madiba was present at the 1995 Rugby World Cup final and has often said that sport can be used to break down racial barriers in South Africa.
