Faster and more affordable internet for South Africans

The West African Cable System linking South Africa to Europe went live at midday on Friday.
It will provide faster and more affordable internet for South Africans in the future, as well as for a number of other African countries.
Fourteen investing parties, including a number of mobile operators, have made the project possible.
Johan Meyer, Telkom’s executive for global capacity says consumers may not experience changes today. But when they do, it will be significant.
