Friday evening a shack fire occurred in Khayelitsha resulting in one man sustaining second degree burns.
In another incident a man sustained serious burn injuries in a fire in Gugulethu.
In a shack fire in Zonnebloem one man died.
In Khayelitsha in the Monwabisi Park a fire destroyed three shacks.
Disaster risk managements Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said the City will assist the affected families with food parcels, clothing and building material.
The City’s disaster risk management centre urges people to be careful when working with fires.
