Schabir Shaik has not yet been informed of how he would benefit from the presidential remission for thousands of prisoners.
The convicted fraudster will be among thousands who will have their sentences shortened on Tuesday.
Correctional Services in KwaZulu-Natal has confirmed that Shaik would be among just more than 5 700 prisoners in the province who would get between 6 and 18 months off their sentences .
This comes after the announcement by President Jacob Zuma on Freedom Day.
