The Congress of South African Trade Union in the Northern Cape said they are disturbed and angered by the behaviour of the South African Police Services in Kimberly who arrested the provincial leadership of POPCRU.

Cosatu’s Northern Cape Provincial Secretary Anele Gxoyiya said POPCRU leadership was arrested for trespassing while they had a meeting after many postponements.

Gxoyiya said he did not understand how people could be trespassing at their place of work, on the invitation of the commissioner.

Gxoyiya said the purpose of them being at the premises was because “there was a meeting that was arranged with the provincial commissioner”.
