An accident involving a motor vehicle and a bus left two females dead and one man critically injured on the N3 near Cato Ridge in Durban.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said on arrival paramedics found that people were still trapped in the wreckage.  Tragically the two females had died due to the very extensive injuries that they sustained.  Jaws of life had to be used to free them.

Botha said the bus driver sustained minor injuries but was severally shocked and was transferred to a nearby hospital.

The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
