A pedestrian died after being knocked and 60-year-old shot multiple times

A man has died during a pedestrian accident on the N12 towards Johannesburg in Wedela, approximately forty kilometers from Potchefstroom last night.

Santie Steinmann said, “Netcare911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found the body of a man lying on the roadway, after he was knocked over by a vehicle.”

Steinmann said, “Upon assessment of the man paramedics found the man died tragically due to the extensive injuries sustained in the accident.”

Steinmann added that, “Exact details surrounding the cause of the pedestrian accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.”

Meanwhile, a man in his 60’s was killed this afternoon after he was shot multiple times on Westmead Road in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said, “on our arrival we found the body of a male patient lying next to a bakkie, on assessment we found that the patient had sustained gunshot wounds.”

Meiring said, “Unfortunately the man had succumbed to his wounds prior to our arrival”

Meiring added that the cause of the shooting is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
