Western Cape traffic cracking down on drivers

This past weekend, Western Cape authorities conducted 24 road blocks across the province.

3086 vehicles were stopped and searched. Western Cape Chief of Traffic Kenny Africa said, “19 drunken drivers were arrested and that the highest reading was seven times over the limit.”

Meanwhile, the authorities issued fines of about R336 000 and further tested the speed of 497 vehicles, of which 166 drivers were prosecuted.


Western Cape Chief of Traffic, Kenny Africa said, the highest speed recorded was 170 km in a 60 km zone and one brutality was recorded.
