The Hawks have arrested an 18-year-old for the murder of
slain Cape Town Magistrate, Romay van Rooyen.
Hawks spokesperson Katlego Mogale says the suspect has been
linked to the murder and was traced and arrested at his home in Mitchell's
Plain.
‘’The suspect was traced and arrested at his home in
Mitchell’s Plain, Cape Town in a multi-disciplinary operation comprising of the
Hawks’ Crimes Against the State, National Priority Violent Crime Investigation,
Digital Forensic Investigation and Priority Crime Management Centre.’’
Mogale says Rooyen's car, which was stolen on the night of
her death, has since been recovered in Mitchell's Plain.
Van Rooyen's body was discovered by a family member at her
Marina Da Gama home near Muizenberg on
the 10th of September.
