13-year-old boy injured in an accident in Greymont

A 13-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital this is after he was knocked down by a taxi on Long Road in Greymont last night.

It is believed that the boy was walking with two of his friends when the incident occurred. 

However the two friends on the scene could not explain to the paramedics how the accident occurred. 

ER24 Spokesperson Werner Vermaak said paramedics found the boy still lying on the ground when they arrived at the scene, they stabilised him before he was rushed to a nearby hospital for further care.

The cause of the accident and the series of event will remain a subject for police investigations.
