The African Christian Democratic Party in the Western Cape has called on MEC of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism Alan Winde to give real solutions to real problems.

ACDP Provincial Leader Ferlon Christians said it is government’s responsibility to create an environment that enables the private sector to create jobs.

Christians said government is doing too little to crate jobs in the Western Cape and the youth is unemployed.

“The youth wage subsidy is not having the impact that the government wanted in this province and we urge government to do more in crating jobs for our youth,” Christians added.

Meanwhile MEC of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism Alan Winde said the unemployment rate in the province is of great concern; however it is the lowest in South Africa.

MEC Winde said the broad and the narrow unemployment rate is the smallest gap in South Africa, but it is not an excuse.

“We might be better off than with other provinces it is still a major concern of 570 000 thousands people that do not have job and all our programmes are directed at the creating jobs, that our first strategic objective,” added Winde.
