The African National Congress has confirmed that it has set up a task team to help Cosatu in the challenges it is currently facing.

The task team is led by ANC Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa.

This is after Cosatu suspended its general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi pending the outcome of a disciplinary hearing into to an affair he had with a junior employee.

ANC Spokesperson Jackson Mthembu said this task team includes another three top members of the ANC, Gwede Mantashe, Baleka Mbete and Zweli Mkhize.

Mthembu added that there are also other members who are of the NEC and were once members of Cosatu and this will ensure that the divisions within Cosatu will be resolved.
