Western Cape MEC of Community Safety Dan Plato today said he has written a letter to provincial Police Commissioner Arno Lamoer regarding the legitimacy of the provincial Community Police Board election.

“I have asked the Provincial commissioner to look at the matter and if he is satisfied that the electioneering and the process was legal, if that is the case the board is welcomed, Plato added.

This is after Former Chairperson of the board Hanif Loonat claimed that the elections were illegal as he was not notified about the elections.

Plato added that if Mr Loonat is not happy with the board it is up to him to do something about it even if it means going to the courts.
