electricity call centre back on line

The City of Cape Town’s 24 hour Electricity Call Centre 0800 220 440 was experiencing technical problems and was not operating since midnight on Thursday.

At 9 this morning the line was restored to normal.

Charles Cooper, Acting Media Manager for the City of Cape Town says that they had problems from late last night and they took it out of service to do some maintenance.

“We do apologise if anybody in this time tried to make a call to the centre and were unable to get through,” says Cooper.

He adds that residence can also, if they struggle to get through to the centre, which is very busy at the moment as a result of the electricity load shedding can try their general call centre.

This number appears on the front page of your monthly municipal account.

The general number is 0860 103 086 which is only available at office hours.
