Western Cape police have urged the public to come forward with information after human remains were found near a shopping centre in George.
Captain Malcolm Pojie says the remains were found in an open field between Parkdene and the N2 highway near the Garden Route mall yesterday.
Pojie says a worker found the skeleton and alerted police. The state pathologist examined the remains which were taken to the state mortuary for an autopsy to be performed.
Police estimate that the remains could have been there for between six and twelve months.
