A man has been arrested in Hermanus after more than 2000 units of abalone was found in his vehicle he was driving.
“The man is expected to appear in the Hermanus Magistrate court later this week,” said Spokesperson for the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism Maryke Brand
“Another person was arrested on Saturday in Hermanus after inspectors received a tip off from a member of the community and they found 1300 units of abalone in his vehicle which they also confiscated,” said Brand
