Police on the men hunt for five suspects

Police were call in at Nyanga Junction Mall in Mannergberg were an armed robbery occurred yesterday morning. The cash transit security guards were dropping money of at the bank inside the shopping mall when the were approach by five armed unknown men.

The suspects allegedly fired shots at the guards; one of the guards was fatally wounded on the head and passed away on the scene while the other guard sustain bullets wounds to his neck. He is currently recovering in hospital, said superintendent Jones.

“The suspects rob the cash box containing an undisclosed amount of money as well as security guards fire arms.”

They then fled the scene on foot across the railway line were they hijack a red Toyota Cressida and later the vehicle was found abundant at Loftus in formal settlement, says Jones.

Police have launched a search for the suspects and they have open a case of armed robbery and attempted murder. Anyone with information can contact crime stop on 08600 10111.
