Red Cross Hospital has opened its first ever Family Resource Centre today.
The centre aims to assist families of ill of patients to access vital moral and psychological support.
The benefits will extend further to outpatient health-related activities, as well as programmes for the community.
Communications officer for Red Cross Hospital, Themba Gubula said the centre will encourage effective and relevant information exchange amongst those responsible in the process.
“This includes patient, parents and staff members. The whole Family Resource Centre idea is that we ensure that as a hospital we provide a holistic care, a holistic approach to caring for sick children and to make sure that we also look after families of sick children in our hospital.”
