Two trucks were set alight in Ravensmead outside Cape Town earlier today.
The trucks were parked on either side of a railway line and police said the vehicles were set alight 5 minutes apart by the same group of people.
Police are investigating whether the two incidents are linked to the national truck drivers strike supported by road workers union SATAWU.
Yesterday violence broke out in areas on the Cape Flats when truck drivers were stoned and some were prevented from making deliveries to major supermarkets.
The arsonists were seen boarding a train for Cape Town.
It's also alleged that two trucks were petrol bombed in KwaMashu outside Durban yesterday.
17 people were arrested after the trucks were set alight.
