Six people have been arrested on various charges after the ocean view police conducted tracing operation that was conducted in their policing precinct in the early hours of this morning.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Nkosikho Mzuku says the suspects were sought on separate cases and were arrested at different addresses in the Ocean View area.
“Warrants for their arrests were issued by the court after they failed to make their scheduled court appearances.
"The six suspects will appear in the Simon’s Town Magistrates’ court today to face the following charges for theft of a mobile phone, for possession of 27 packets of tik, for public violence and possession of 23 packets of tik and dagga. A 32 year male was arrested for being in possession of 792 shell fish without a valid permit,” said Mzuku.
He added that a 35 year old male was arrested for being in possession of 5 packets of tik and mandrax. Similar operations will be conducted on a continuous basis in the Ocean View area said Warrant Officer Mzuku.
