Two suspects were arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm in Gugulethu yesterday.
Captain Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi said police were patrolling Lansdowne Road when they noticed a suspicious looking vehicle with two occupants.
“The Police searched the suspects and recovered a firearm (Z88 pistol) with its serial number filed off,” said Sitshitshi.
The suspects will appear at the Athlone Magistrates court tomorrow.
They face charges of possession of an illegal firearm.
