Soccer fans have been urged to stop blowing vuvuzelas while national anthems are being played at stadiums during the Fifa World Cup.
The stern message came from government yesterday saying South Africans should stand at attention, with their hands placed on their sides, while singing the national anthem.
Spokesperson Themba Maseko says fans must show the proper respect for all the countries’ anthems.
He says this means audiences should not blow vuvuzelas, move around or hold conversations while the various anthems are being played.
Meanwhile the Local Organising Committee has been ordered by the South Gauteng High Court to release all information about tenders relating to the tournament to the public.
This comes after a national newspaper made an application to the court after the LOC refused to release the information.
The LOC however says it is a private entity and therefore does not have to comply with normal government transparency regulations.
