Following the disruption of the public service strike, Congress of South Africa Students has sent in a list of demands to the Education Department.

The body is demanding two hours added to every schooling day, the September holidays to be cancelled, the final matric exams to be postponed by a week and 25% added to all affected pupils’ exam marks.

Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga is expected to meet with Cosas today to discuss their exam demands.

Motshekga said last week that it would be impossible to grant to the demands, but Cosas has threatened huge disruptions if they don’t get what they want.
